1. Weaver's Needle

The Lost Dutchman Gold Mine supposedly lies in the shadow of Weaver's Needle. Looking south from the Four Peaks Wilderness Area.

2. Yucca Valley Thunderstorm

Was out shooting lightning yesterday and watched this gorgeous thunderstorm build over Yucca Valley, just east of Big Bear Lake, Ca The details in the cloud were unreal and thought it was so neat. The storm did drop heavy rain and some lightning before dissipating.

3. Wimpole Hall and Farm

Today we visited Wimpole Estate in Cambridgeshire. Many landowners had vast estates surrounding their home & would often have a farm.Gardens were formal and designed to give pleasing views. Farm barns/buildings would have a traditional thatched roof and the cows/goats/sheep would graze in huge open, green spaces on the estate.Heavy horses were used to pull carriages and work the land. A walled garden would produce fruit, vegetables and flowers for the house. Today the produce supplies the Restaurant and the horses pull carts round the estate carrying visitors.

After nearly a month of nothing exciting (just sun and blue skies day after day) this sunset presented itself after thunderstorms appeared in the local mountains. The storms burned off leaving the high cirrus clouds to drift west. San Diego has not seen any precipitation for over 4 months now, and that is not unusual. picture taken at Mt.
